===== Dill Pickles ===== \\ [[Canning]]\\ Prep Time: 60 minutes\\ Cook Time: 15 minutes\\ Brine Ingredients: * 6 cups white vinegar * 6 tbsp pickling salt * 8 cups water * 1/3 cup granulated sugar Pickle Ingredients: * Cucumbers cut into spears * 1/2 tbsp peppercorns per jar * Mustard powder * Fresh dill * Garlic cloves Steps: - Sterilize canning jars, lids, and rings in boiling water for 10 minutes. - Mix together brine ingredients ang bring to a boil. - Cut cucumbers into spears. - Once jars are sterilized put in 1/2 tbsp peppercorns, a few shakes of mustard powder to taste, a couple crushed cloves of garlic, and a few stems of dill with flowers. - Pack jars with cucumber spears and fill with brine leaving 1/2" head space. - Water bath can the jars for 15 minutes. {{tag>canning}}
