In a large skillet add olive oil and butter and cook for 30 seconds for butter to melt. Stir in onion and garlic and let cook for 2 minutes
Add orzo to the skillet and let cook for 2 minutes so that it starts to toast lightly
Season with salt and pepper then stir in chicken broth and half and half cream. Bring to a boil, and then turn the heat down to a medium low. Cover with a lid and let cook for 5 minutes
Remove the lid and stir in parmesan cheese and parsley
