Start a pot of water to boil. Add a pinch of salt and splash of olive oil.
Add basil, olive oil, salt, pepper, pine nuts, salt, pepper, and cheese to a blender. Blend thoroughly.
Once water is boiling, add the pasta and cook until desired doneness.
Heat a frying pan to cook the shrimp about 4-5 minutes. Do not over cook.
Drain water from shrimp pan. Add butter and 1/4 tsp salt to the shrimp.
Save 1/4 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta.
Add the 1/4 cup of pasta water to the pesto sauce and mix again.
Divide pasta among the bowls, add shrimp, sauce, and top with grated parmesan cheese.
